Full-Time and Part Time Online Learning that Works Around All Schedules
There is no one-size fits all daily schedule for Big Lake Online: That's one of its perks!
While students are encouraged to complete learning during regular school hours as that is when staff is most available to help with remediation, reviewing work, providing feedback, and unlocking assessments, they are welcome to complete work whenever it best fits their schedule, including nights and weekends.
Many of our secondary students use Big Lake Online as a way to work around schedules for work, activities, or other personal situations.
Some also take advantage of our college and career readiness program, Relevant Experience through Apprenticeship Learning (REAL). Our apprenticeship program prepares students for life after high school by connecting learning in the classroom with real-world applications in the workplace.

Leroy
1 Class BLO + 6 Classes BLHS
Leroy takes most of his courses at Big Lake High School, but takes advantage of Big Lake Online for one career planning class.
He stays on campus to his online work in our dedicated online learning space, where Big Lake Online staff are available to provide support when needed.

Jack
3 Classes BLO + 1 Class BLHS + PSEO
Jack starts his day taking one College in the Classroom (CIC) class at Big Lake High School before going off campus to complete coursework for 3 Big Lake Online courses.
He spends his afternoons taking 3 PSEO classes through Saint Cloud State.

Kelly
4 Classes BLO + Work Experience
Kelly lives in Saint Cloud, and in the morning she works through the courseload for her 4 Big Lake Online courses.
Kelly spends her afternoons working at her work site. She earns high school credit for this work experience through Big Lake High School's REAL program.

Muhammad
7 Classes BLO
Muhammad is a full time Big Lake Online student who typically completes all of his coursework off site.
Muhammad splits his time living between Mankato and Big Lake, and Big Lake Online gives Muhammad the opportunity to stay on top of his coursework no matter where he is.
