Daily Schedule: Grades K-5
So many ask about what a day in the life of an elementary online student looks like, and of course, depending on the child and family schedule it looks a little different for everyone. That's one of the perks!
In general, Big Lake Online K-5 students complete school from the comfort of home and are able to create a routine that feels comfortable (Following a consistent routine is so important!).
Students use devices, workbooks, and hands-on activities to complete daily work.
In addition, we regularly get together as a class for optional Zoom meetings or face-to-face gatherings, which give students an opportunity to build relationships and develop social skills.

Classes & Time Per Day
K-5 BL Online students are assigned a mix of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, Health, and Phys. Ed courses.
Despite its name, a majority of K-5 Big Lake Online isn't actually spent online. In addition to listening to lessons online and having an opportunity to practice, each student receives a set of workbooks and most assignments are completed in workbooks or through hands-on activities.

Face-to-Face Connection Opportunities
Regular class Zooms and monthly in-person activities give everyone the opportunity to build relationships and stay connected!
These face-to-face connection times are offered by the online teacher, and provide an opportunity for art, experiments, playing games, exercise, dance, and making connections with other kids.
